For The Love Of JeepsLooking to add to your collection of Jeep memorabilia? Or are you a history buff that wants to get some of those old Army Jeep items for your collection of World War II items? Or even someone who wants to see how much their own Jeep collectibles are worth? Regardless, chances are you are on the search for something to prove to the world how much you love Jeeps and their history.
What Kind of Collectibles Are AvailableThis all depends on your personal view as to what a collectible is. Anything and everything can become a collectible, especially in regards to Army Jeeps. Perhaps you enjoy collecting Jeep-brand shirts, or die-cast Army Jeep toys. There is also the opportunity to create your own collectables, at which point they can be uniquely designed to fit your personal needs.
Jeep Clothing & ApparelMany places sell Jeep clothing, including AllThingsJeep.com and Jeep.com. Once there, you can proudly display your love of Jeeps everywhere you go – even without being with your Jeep. Items range from t-shirts to jackets, baseball caps to EcoWear. They make Jeep brand infant items, and also camping equipment. So to show your support of all things Jeep, clothing and apparel are things to look into. There are often figurines of Army Jeeps for sale through venues such as Ebay.
Jeep Toys – Not Just For Kids! Most collectibles, however, do not revolve around clothing. Many collectibles come in the form of toy and die-cast figurines of Jeeps – Army Jeep and Civilian Jeep alike. Places like Ebay often have Jeep figurines that are old and are no longer made; toy stores have the modern Jeep versions. Sometimes if you are lucky, however, a store may have a replica World War II Army Jeep for sale.
Sometimes, though, simply picking up toy Jeeps – even if they are decades old – is not enough. Some of us want to get right into the heart of it all – and that is the basis of DIY – or Do It Yourself – kits. They allow you to put the Jeep together and paint it with your own personal flair.
How to make it a hobbyIf you have a Jeep club near you (see the Find A Jeep Club link), try seeing if they have any events that they sponsor in which you can take your collectibles and show them off to others. Or, if they don’t, perhaps there might be some members that would enjoy getting together and trading or comparing their collections every month or so. Other ways to generally make collectibles a hobby is to just do what the name implies – collect! People collect stamps and coins as a hobby, and then either enjoy viewing them from time to time and adding to the collection, or they enjoy keeping them long enough that they can sell them to another for more money than for which they bought it. Collecting Jeep memorabilia is easy and simple – all you have to do is start!
The Real DealPerhaps the toy Jeeps and name-brand shirts are not to your liking… You have the real thing. You are the very proud owner of that amazing World War II vintage Willys Jeep, sitting in your garage, wanting to show the world that it still has what it takes to be called one of the first Army Jeeps. There’s only one problem – you no longer have the parts for such a beauty. You have the ultimate Army Jeep collectible, but no where to take it. Never fear – there are many sites on the internet that cater to exactly those needs. Take a look at our menu on the left for parts, accessories and collectibles.
Happy Jeeping! |
