There are a multitude of other military vehicles outside of the ever popular jeeps. These vehicles were used for both combat and transportation. There is a rich history following these vehicles and their importance in the military as they not only carried weapons and military supplies, but also our nation's soldiers.
Military vehicles include trucks, humvees, tanks, ambulances, and other specialized combat vehicles. These specialized vehicles were required to be sturdy and extremely reliable in order to withstand a varying array of terrains(such as dessert sands, extreme heat, or ice and snow, and extreme cold), depending on where they were shipped and what they were to be used for(specialized combat vehicles vs. vehicles for transport). For the livelihood of the soldiers, it was absolutely imperative that these vehicles could carry them safely from one destination to the next or carry precious cargo in the same manner.
Because of constant advancement in military design of vehicles, these older and obsolete models are often decommissioned and sold on the foreign market. If possible, they are also sold on the civilian market, in turn granting these people an opportunity to own a piece of history.
